Kootenay National Park of Canada

Visit an ancient park, which was established in the early 1920's and it protects the lovely landscape of Canada. The Kootenay National Park of Canada is located in British Columbia and measures around 1406 square kilometers. The park covers part of the Canadian Rockies and it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. The landscape varies from high mountain peaks to glaciers and lakes, waterfalls to canyons and limestone caves. One of the main attractions of this site is its hot springs that have more than 35 Celsius degrees. There are other springs as well that are worthwhile visiting: the Paint Pots that have a lovely color and which used to be an important source of ochre pigment.
