Jasper National Park of Canada

Jasper National Park is the most northern national park in the Canadian Rockies and also the largest at just over 10,800 kmē. The park surrounds the townsite of Jasper and is located in Alberta just north of Banff National Park.

The park is home to the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, many lakes, waterfalls, mountains and hot springs. Regular visitors and year-round inhabitants include moose, elk, mountain goat, bighorn sheep, caribou and bears.

The majority of Jasper National Park is a thick forest of fir and spruce. Highway 16 (the Yellowhead Highway) between Kamloops and Edmonton runs through the park and intersects with Highway 93 (Icefields Parkway) at the town of Jasper.
