Vernon is the northern gateway to the Okanagan Valley. The region provides year round fun and entertainment with its water sports, wineries, festivals, orchards and close proximity to ski mountains.

As the oldest city in the Okanagan, Vernon is a cultural centre for the region and with lakes on three sides and surrounded by farms it is also one of the most picturesque in the province.

Vernon is 35 minutes north of Kelowna International Airport, 6 hours from Calgary and 5 hours from Vancouver.

Mackie Lake House presents a unique situation where, through private philanthropy, a significant heritage house and property have been preserved. Upon the death of Patrick F. Mackie the house and property were bequeathed to the Mackie Lake House Foundation. The house was designed in high-style Arts and Crafts architecture with a unique eastern Canadian influence.
